FedericiwebReading’s Adam Federici has today been announced as the winner of the Football League Precision Goalkeeping Golden Glove Award for February.

Australian international , Federici, had a clean sweep of clean sheets in February to take the coveted award that is new to the Football League this season.

With zero goals conceded for the month Reading stormed to four straight victories and have continued that fine run, currently pushing for automatic promotion from the Championship.

Federici received the Precision Goalkeeping Golden Glove award for the first time and manager Brian McDermott, said; “He is a top goalkeeper and a top person.

“Everything he does is geared towards making him as good as he can possibly be on a Saturday afternoon.

“He trains really hard, we have known Adam for such a long time now and have really witnessed him develop as a person and a goalkeeper so it is fantastic to see.”

The Precision Goalkeeping Golden Glove award will be presented each month to the Football League goalkeeper that has kept the most clean sheets in all competitions from data supplied by the Press Association.

There will also be an annual award in the Championship, League 1 and League 2 for the keeper that has kept the most clean sheets throughout the season in all competitions.
